Eric Marsden is the clinic director at The Marsden Centre of Naturopathic Excellence. Eric Marsden obtained his undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of Toronto and completed his graduate studies in Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. Eric Marsden holds numerous qualifications including: Chelation Therapy and Heavy Metal Detoxification, advanced Darkfield Microscope technician, a certified Homotoxicologist, and advanced certification in Bioresonance Therapy and Bioenergetic Testing. He has also received extensive training in adjuvant cancer therapies from several distinguished clinics and teaching institutions in Germany. Eric Marsden has received several awards for clinical excellence including most recently the OAND’s Chair’s award for outstanding contribution to the naturopathic profession. He has appeared on television (CBC Marketplace and 2nd Opinion) and has been quoted extensively in print (Now, Toronto Star, Readers Digest, etc.). Dr. Marsden is an international lecturer on topics of environmental medicine and integrative oncology.
Cancer - The Leading Cause of Death in North America
According to World Cancer Research Fund / American Institute for Cancer Research, cancer is or will soon be the leading cause of death in North America.
In Canada, in the year 2009, an estimated 171,000 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed and 73,500 deaths will occur due to cancer. This means 470 Canadians per day will be diagnosed with cancer. This is an increase of 4,600 diagnoses and 1,500 deaths from 2008.
World Health Organization has estimated that by 2030 the rates of cancer will have doubled globally.
According to various studies dating as far back as the 1930s, and including the World Cancer Research Fund estimates, 70-80% of all cancers are preventable. Yet, in Canada in 2006 less than 2% of all cancer research dollars were put towards prevention.
