Blood and Urine samples can be collected and sent for analysis at the RHNHC. Tests like cholesterol, blood sugar levels, complete blood count, etc. These tests are covered by the provincial health plan when ordered by a medical doctor; however Naturopathic Doctors can perform these tests but are unable, at the current time, to have the costs covered by your provincial health plan (see the OAND web site for more political lobbying details). Therefore patients receiving conventional lab testing at RHNHC must pay for each test out of pocket.
